Timber

We keep a wide range of treated and planed timber. We also offer a cutting service on timber and sheet material. 

The planed timbers go from 21 x  21  mm (1 x 1 PAR) up to about 270 x 22 mm (11 x 1 PAR).  There is 45 x 45 mm, 45 x 70 mm. 70 x 70 mm, 70 x 95 mm and 95 x 95 mm. 

As a general guide the lengths are going to be 2.4 m, 3.0 m, 3.6 m, 4.2 m, 4.8m and 5.4m.  

There are too many variations to list here but I'll also mention we do a variety of doorstops, door lining sets and  door frames. There are softwood, hardwood and MDF window boards and window cills in a selection of sizes to suit most needs  and budgets. 

Other items include ;

WBP Plywood  and MDF from 6mm to 25 mm. Timber and MDF  skirting  and architraves /  Plasterboard / Philippine Mahogany and Oak Hardwood / Mouldings /  T and G Floorboards / PVC fascia and cladding . . . and many more! 

More unusual items such as 8" or 9" pine ogee / taurus skirting can be ordered in.  


Shiplap 5" x 5/8 ths. Actual finished size is 120 mm accross.



Over the years the sawn timber has changed it's appearance and it's name. Some people call it treated, tanalised or C24.  The term C24 is related to stress testing the timber for it's strength. It's no longer sawn in appearance, it is fairly smooth to the touch and green from the pressure treatment. Sizes in lengths are similar to the planed timber except that 6m is a common size. 
Generally people will ask for these in imperial measurements. The boards in the picture below have 2 x 8 written on them as well as 4.2m. The mix of metric and imperial is an odd situation but that is how it is.  

To keep it simple, the dimensions include 2 by 2, 3 x 2, 4 x2,  up to 9 by 2.  We cut 2 by 1 sometimes but due to the knots in the timber it can fall apart which is wasteful.  Instead we tend to sell a tanalised tile baton at 25 by 38 /39 mm by 3.6 m.
There are 3 by 3 and 4 by 4 posts (95 x 95) at 2.4 and 3m. We also stock individual feather edge boards as well as made up panels for fencing.

The fence posts come in 3 by 3 and 4 by 4 at 2.4m and 3m / 8 ' and 10 '.


Fencing / Fence Panels

6 " by 8 ' by  Feather Edge Boards.

The featheredge comes in 4 " and 6 " widths and 6 ' and 8 ' lengths. We also stock made up fence panels ….   either Lap Panels or Feather edge. The sizes include 6' by 6', 6' by 5' and so on. There are featheredge gates to match. Concrete posts and gravel boards as well as the timber.



Handrail. There are a few diferent handrails. Another common one is Mopstick.

A traditional sized floor board.


Skirting Boards 7 " Pine with Torus and Ogee reversible. Also comes as a 5 " and sometimes a 9 ".

There is a wide selection of skirting boards and architraves in hardwood, softwood and MDF.
